There’s a cure for many ailments in this world,

but there’s definitely no cure for the sickness of envy.

Love may soften in,

but it will burn love out of an already blackening heart.

Kindness may sometimes perturbe it,

But jealousy will overtake kindness’ golden ebbs in the blink of one seething look.

Those that have envy of others are hardened to the core,

and although they may be able to put up a farce of pride,

they are actually being swallowed by its swampy sludge,

and although envy isn’t contagious (thank Allah!),

it’s certainly symptomatic.

If someone is envious of your goodness,

they will try to drag you down to their level,

and it is at that time that you must stay strong,

and rise above that animalistic urge to fight back,

or worse become numb to its/their effect on those that are of true heart.
